Si avvicina alla fotografia come autodidatta nei primi anni '80, intensificando poi la pratica dal 2007, quando è tra i fondatori del Gruppo Istanti di Bettona (PG), con l'impegno di promuovere e diffondere la fotografia in Umbria.
Ha collaborato con Parallelozero, agenzia di Milano.
Si definisce un umanista che coltiva la fotografia per legittima difesa.
Nel 2014 entra a far parte di Spontanea, collettivo italiano di street photography. Conduce workshop sulla fotografia di strada.
Tra i vari riconoscimenti, nel 2008 il 1° Premio a San Vincenzo Fotografia, nel 2011 il premio speciale della giuria a Foiano Fotografia e finalista al Wanted Artist Exposure di New York.
Nel 2013 ha conquistato il primo posto al 5° Citerna Fotografia, finalista "Portfolio Italia 2013 – Gran Premio Epson" e il secondo posto all'Umbria Photo Fest 2013.
Nel 2014 ha conquistato il 3° posto al Sony World Photography Awards nella categoria professional people.
Ha esposto al Centro Italiano della Fotografia d'Autore di Bibbiena (AR) nel 2011, 2012 e 2013.
Nel 2014 ha esposto alla Somerset House di Londra, a Liverpool, a Sassoferrato al festival Face Photo News ed a Città di Castello al festival Re-immagina-re.
Sue immagini sono apparse sulle pubblicazioni FIAF "Passione Italia", "Itaca", "Riflessioni" e "Fotoit", oltre a "Il Fotografo", "Argos", "FotoCult", "Exposure", "Grazia".
Vinicio Drappo approaches photography in the early eighties, intensifying his activity in 2007, when he's among the founders of Gruppo Istanti, an association located in Bettona (Perugia, Italy) committed to the promotion of photography through workshops, courses, exhibitions and publications.
He collaborates with Parallelozero, an agency in Milan, Italy.
He defines himself as a humanist cultivating photography out of self-defense.
In 2014 becomes part of Spontanea, an italian collective of street photography and conducts workshops about street photography.
Among the many acknowledgements, he has been awarded the 1° Prize at San Vincenzo Fotografia in 2008, the Jury's Special Prize at Foiano Fotografia, and was a finalist at the Wanted Artist Exposure in New York.
In 2013 he has gained the first place at the 5th Citerna Fotografia, the second place at Umbria Photo Fest and was a finalist at "Portfolio Italia 2012 – Gran Premio Epson".
In 2014 he has gained the 3rd place at the Sony World Photography Awards in the category of professional awards, people.
His works have been exhibited at the Centro Italiano della Fotografia d’Autore in Bibbiena (Arezzo, Italy) in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
